Meet Our Founder

Mr. Chandrakant Soni

Founder & Principal | Aananda Capital Investment Advisors

Chandrakant Soni is a financial services professional and entrepreneur with over 27 years of experience across asset management, private equity, capital markets and investment-related businesses. His career has been defined by building and scaling investment platforms, leading fundraising initiatives, developing investor and distribution relationships and creating long-term value through strategic partnerships.

Prior to founding Aananda Capital Investment Advisors, Chandrakant spent 13 years with the Motilal Oswal Group in senior leadership roles spanning asset management and alternative investments.

During his four-year tenure with Motilal Oswal Asset Management, he was part of the leadership team that helped scale the business from approximately ₹850 crore to nearly ₹40,000 crore in assets under management (AUM). The platform has since continued its growth, crossing ₹2,00,000 crore in AUM.

Subsequently, as Chief Business Officer (CBO) at Motilal Oswal Alternates, the Group’s alternative investment platform, he led fundraising and investor relations, playing a key role in scaling the business from approximately ₹3,500 crore to nearly ₹40,000 crore in AUM across Private Equity, Private Credit and Real Estate Credit strategies.

Over the course of his career, Chandrakant has cultivated extensive relationships across the investment ecosystem, including family offices, high-net-worth individuals, global Indians, wealth management platforms, distribution partners, domestic and international institutional investors.

His experience spans fund formation and fundraising, investor relations, distribution strategy, capital mobilisation, business development and investment platform expansion.

At Aananda Capital Investment Advisors, he brings together this experience and network to support investment managers in fundraising, investor relations and business development; assist businesses and real estate developers in accessing equity and debt capital and evaluating strategic opportunities; and provide investment-related guidance to family offices and investors.

His approach is grounded in understanding the distinct objectives of each stakeholder, identifying the right connections and building relationships founded on trust, integrity and long-term alignment. He believes that sustainable outcomes emerge when capital, sound judgement and the right relationships come together.

Committed to continuous learning and leadership development, Chandrakant completed a specially designed CXO programme at the Indian School of Business (ISB) in 2024–25, as part of the Motilal Oswal Group’s leadership development initiative.

He holds an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor’s degree in Science.
